Solutions

We've discussed global water problems and shared startling water facts.
Now let's look at some of the things people and organizations are doing to help.

  1. Check out the following websites - and any others you find on your own.
  2. When you find a piece of information you'd like to share, put it on the padlet wall below,
      • (Just double click on the padlet wall and type your information.  Be sure to include your name.  You will need to save a picture to your desktop, then click on the middle icon of your padlet post and upload)
  3. Hopefully this will work! If not, then just comment on the post and share your information. There are so many wonderful organizations and inventions out there!  Here are a few.....

ICT
The water project,
Global Water Challenge,
The Other 90 Percent,
Water.org .

When you share your information on the wall, PLEASE TRY NOT TO OVERLAP ENTRIES ONTO EACH OTHER.  You can move the wall around by dragging it and moving it right or down.  That way we'll have plenty of room for everyone.

Wretched Beasties in Water

Today in class you had the opportunity to see all the 'wretched beasties' in the digital microscopes.  Yuk! Here are some of mine -- Imagine drinking THAT?

BLOG YOURS - Take 2 videos (10-20 seconds only) of some of the microorganisms you see with the digital microscope.

Please follow the guidelines below and share it on your blog:
Blog Post:

  1. Embed your videos into your blog (at least 2)
  2. Include the following information in your post

  • Name of microorganism
  • Category (protist, multicellular)
  • Describe how they move through water
  • Describe how they get their food.
  • Any other interesting information

NOTE:  Make sure you create well written sentences - check grammar and spelling.
Assignment and Resources on Protists ---- click here to find information about the water microbes)

THEN -  Find three facts about our global water problems and waterborne infectious disease.  Add them to your blog post as a separate paragraph or separate bullet points under your protist information

Here are a few suggested sites - but you can research your own as well.   You might find better sites! Please use more than one site.
